Practical Education Institute (PEI) provides courses on campus and by distance learning. PEI's key point of difference is the individual help and attention each student receives. Students are supported by an experienced and qualified team, including career advisors, literacy and numeracy support staff. PEI has some of the best training kitchens in New Zealand, featuring new gas, electric and patisserie kitchens that must be seen to be appreciated. Two modern lecture theatres offer the latest technology, and the computing resources available on campus are second to none. Courses offered are accredited by Microsoft,London City & Guilds, and NZQA. PEI is also ISO 9001 accredited to assure the highest standards are maintained.

TARGET GROUP
PEI caters for students with a wide range of learning needs. Many students who are not provided for in secondary schools find the vocational courses at PEI interesting, and find their passion within the hospitality, and computing industries.

Minimum age: 16 years (unless exemption is obtained from the student's secondary school)

Full time on campus courses: National Certificate in Hospitality (Basic Cookery) Level 3 National Certificate in Hospitality (Food & Beverage) Level 3 National Certificate in Hospitality (Cookery) Level 4 Certificate in Computer Technology Level 3 National Certificate in Computing Level 4 Distance Learning courses: National Certificate in Business Administration & Computing Level 3 National Certificate in Business Administration Level 4 National Certificate in Business (Small Business Management) Level 4 MYOB Training (Mind Your Own Business) Educational Studies in TESOL Level 4 (PracTESOL)

LENGTHS OF COURSES
On campus courses vary from 20 to 29 weeks Distance Learning courses are up to 50 weeks

NZQA ACCREDITED
PEI is NZQA registered up to Level 5 in several fields.

COURSE / GENERAL FEES
Course fees range from $499. to $6,710. Additional costs include course related equipment (e.g. for hospitality) and City & Guilds.

STUDENT LOAN INFORMATION
All on campus courses are eligible for student loans and allowances.

ENTRY DATES
On campus courses have several intakes per year. For individual course start dates, see www.pei.ac.nz or email info@pei.ac.nz. Distance Learning courses commence approximately 2 weeks following receipt of completed application form and payment.
